2023 Year In Review

As the year draws to a close, it's a time of reflection for us at Adult and Child Trauma Services, a year marked by both challenges and triumphs, growth and learning, loss and resilience. As the CEO, this year has been particularly introspective, balancing the demands of work, life, and family, especially in the wake of losing my mother. It's a journey that has taught me the importance of emotional balance and self-care, lessons I carry into every aspect of our mission.

One of the most exciting developments this year has been the integration of interns into our team. Their energy, enthusiasm, and fresh perspectives have been a breath of fresh air, reminding us of the continuous cycle of learning and teaching. We are particularly proud that two of our interns have transitioned into full-time employees, a testament to their dedication and the supportive environment we strive to foster. This transition not only marks a significant milestone in their professional journeys but also reinforces our commitment to nurturing talent and shaping future leaders in mental health and trauma services.

Another significant achievement this year has been our ability to extend our reach beyond our immediate community. We've successfully contracted with several non-profit organizations, helping them build and enhance their mental health departments. This expansion of our services means that our impact is not just local but also systemic, contributing to a broader movement towards better mental health support across different sectors.

Amidst these professional milestones, the personal challenge of finding an emotional equilibrium has been paramount. The loss of a loved one is a journey through grief that reshapes our understanding of resilience and strength. It's a journey that has deeply influenced my approach as a leader, highlighting the importance of empathy, understanding, and the need to acknowledge our vulnerabilities. It has also underscored the value of the work we do, providing support and guidance to those navigating their paths through trauma and healing.

As we look towards the new year, we do so with anticipation for the amazing adventures that lie ahead. We are poised to embrace new challenges, expand our horizons, and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. With a team strengthened by new talents and a vision fueled by both personal and professional growth, the future is not just a continuation of our journey, but an opportunity to redefine the landscape of trauma and mental health services.

In closing, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our team, our partners, our clients, and everyone who has been a part of our journey this year. Here's to a new year filled with hope, healing, and transformative experiences.
