Trauma-Informed Care:

Professional Development & Training

A trauma-informed care requires an organization and program to recognize and respond to the impact of traumatic stress on individuals seeking services including children, caregivers, and service providers. It is imperative for programs and agencies to understand and maintain trauma awareness, knowledge, and skills into their organizational cultures, practices, and policies.

An organization or program with a successful trauma-informed perspective will constantly update their policy and procedure to meet the need of Trauma survivors by using evidence- based curriculums, strengthen the organization culturally competency, and maintaining a safe environment for the staff and the community.

Therefore, the Adult and Child Services Training follow the following pattern for becoming a trauma-informed program.

Module 1

Trauma and Its Effect on Body, Mind and Body

Module 2

Organizational Preparedness

Module 3

Institutional Abuse

Module 4

Effective Trauma Interventions

Module 5

Developing Work/Life balances

Through this program, your staff will become more aware of the following:

  • Trauma intersects in many different ways with culture, history, race, gender, location, and language.

  • Cultural awareness means having the ability to understand the importance of eliminating disparities in trauma services. It requires culturally responsive involvement across service sectors, communities, organizations, neighborhoods, families, and individuals in order to reduce barriers, overcome stigma, address social adversities, strengthen families, and encourage positive ethnic identity.

We can provide tailored, interactive consultations and training with a team of professionals to promote effectiveness and increase resiliency within your organization. First, we will complete an assessment of your organization's and staff's needs. This includes providing monthly consultation groups with your team to increase client engagement, self-care, and treatment-care effectiveness.

Tailored Training & Workshops

With the information collected, we can provide your staff with quality training in trauma-informed care, develop a better understanding of the concerns within your community, increase effective communication, and reduce potential burnout. Interactive training will promote learning and discussion beyond theory.

Your staff will understand the following:

  1. A deeper understanding of trauma

  2. Have a standard knowledge of symptoms associated with trauma

  3. Trauma-Sensitive communication

  4. Understand Ethical Concerns associated with Trauma

We are not your typical lecturer. Our objective is not to talk to your team. Instead, we provide detailed discussions, role plays, and tailored presentations to the needs of your team and program.

Currently, we are working towards obtaining the opportunity to provide CEUs.
